DESCRIPTION

The history of the Monterone Castle dates back to the eleventh century, at least according to the Perugia State Archives. Besides the sources, the Perugian tradition indicates the castle as an ancient Templar belonging to the place (not surprisingly the proximity to the Templar church of San Bevignate).

Between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries the castle of Monterone was seriously damaged by the continuous internal conflicts the city and only in 1849 the Piceller family began the first renovations, which then led, together with the expansion works in 1886 and minor adaptation works in the sixties of the twentieth century, the structure in its current state.

The property offers 18 different rooms, organized in 6 categories: Standard, Classic, Superior, Panoramic, Family, Romantic.

Each of these also offers unique antiques, which keep alive the charm and medieval style, without giving up the most modern comforts.

SERVICES

In addition to the usual restaurant service, Monterone Castle offers a wide range of services: if your aim is total relaxation, you cannot miss a walk in the structure’s rose garden, a swim in the pool or a visit to the sauna and Turkish bath.

If you are travelling for business, the Picellar room is the ideal place for meetings, it can hold up to 100 people and is equipped with the most advanced equipment!
